Junior Kobra Coaches (12U, 14U, and 15U)
Our 12U, 14U, and 15U coaching staff brings a strong mix of experience, energy, and passion for developing young athletes. With backgrounds in competitive playing, coaching, and player development, each coach is dedicated to teaching fundamentals, building confidence, and instilling a love for the game. Together, they provide a positive and challenging environment that prepares athletes for the next stages of their baseball journey.
Head Coach – Brad Bissell (15U Head Coach)
The Ontario Kobras are proud to welcome Coach Brad Bissell as the new 15U Head Coach. Brad’s journey through the game has been defined by both high-level playing experience and a long-standing commitment to athlete development. A former NCAA Division I pitcher, Brad went on to compete professionally in Edmonton’s independent Northern League, gaining valuable insight into what it takes to succeed at the next level.
Following his playing career, Brad transitioned into coaching and instruction, where he has now spent more than a decade working with competitive teams across Ontario. In addition, he has dedicated over 15 years to camps and private training, guiding players of all ages through technical skill development, game strategy, and the mental aspects of competition.
Brad’s coaching philosophy centers on teaching fundamentals while challenging athletes to grow both as players and as people. His passion, knowledge, and leadership make him an outstanding fit for the Kobras program, and we’re excited to have him leading our 15U athletes into the season ahead.

Dan Miller (14U)
Coach Dan brings a well-rounded background in both playing and coaching to the Ontario Kobras, with a focus on hitting, pitching, and the mental side of baseball. As a certified strength and conditioning coach, Dan blends technical skill instruction with physical training to help athletes reach their full potential on the field.
Growing up in Maryland, Dan played elite baseball with the LOUYAA Lightning and trained at the Athlete Factory before moving to Canada at age 15. He spent three years competing at the AAA level with the Barrie Red Sox, while also captaining his high school team at St. Theresa’s in Midland. His coaching journey began at Smith Brothers Baseball Facility, where he specialized in developing hitters and pitchers.
Most recently, Dan coached 13U baseball with the Midland Penetang Minor Baseball Association and competed as a player with the Ivy Leafs of the North Dufferin Baseball League. In 2022, he completed an internship at Louisiana State University (LSU), where he gained valuable experience working with former MLB draft picks and further sharpened his coaching approach.
Passionate about continuous learning, Coach Dan is committed to developing young athletes both physically and mentally, ensuring they have the tools, confidence, and mindset to succeed at the next level.
Dave Maxamenko (12U Yellow)
From the very beginning, Dave has been an essential piece of the Kobras’ success. Known for his tireless dedication, Dave has built a reputation as both an innovative coach and a relentless leader.
Over the past four years, Dave has directed the Max Velocity Pitching Program, which has become the premier pitching development system in Ontario. Year after year, the program has produced outstanding results and measurable growth for athletes across the province.
But Dave’s expertise extends well beyond pitching. With over 15 years of coaching experience, he has developed players at every level of the game, led a 13U team to nationals, and won an OBA championship. His influence has directly contributed to the careers of dozens of players, including four who advanced to NCAA Division I programs and five who continued their careers at junior colleges.
Dave’s greatest strength lies in his ability to connect with every athlete, building trust and helping them reach their full potential. As GM and President of Baseball Operations, his leadership ensures that the Kobras’ on-field product is unmatched.
